Questions schools ask before they apply
Short answers first. The binding detail for families is in the Privacy Policy; the join process is on How it works.
What does SchoolPort cost?
Pricing is set per school from enrollment, not a public table. Founding schools are quoted individually so a small school is not priced like a large one. See the Pricing page, or ask for a written quote after a walkthrough.
Do we need internet in every classroom?
No. Teachers can record attendance and marks and the desktop app syncs when a connection is available. The office needs a working connection to publish results and send announcements.
What happens to our paper records?
They stay yours. SchoolPort holds the digital record going forward; we do not require you to destroy or hand over anything. Most schools run both for one term and then stop re-copying by hand.
Can we leave and take our data?
Yes. Your school can export its student records, grades, and fee history at any time, and on request we delete the school’s data from the platform.
Who can see our school’s records?
Only the people your school gives accounts to, and only the parts their role allows. A teacher sees their own classes; a parent sees their own children. SchoolPort staff do not browse school records. The Security page explains how that is enforced.
How long until we are actually using it?
Schools that come with a roster ready are typically running attendance and grades within two to three weeks of approval. Fees and report cards follow once the term structure is set.
Where is student data stored?
On cloud infrastructure in the United States and the European Union, encrypted in transit and at rest. There is no Liberian data-centre option from our providers today. Detail is on the Security page and in the Privacy Policy.
Is there a parent and student app?
Yes. Parents and students use SchoolPort BLUE (Broad Learning, Unified Environment), the SchoolPort phone app. School staff use the web portal today; RED (Real-Time Education Dashboard), the app for administrators, is planned. Students and parents who open the website are directed to BLUE.
