1. Who signs in where
In short. Parents and students use the BLUE app. Teachers and school staff use their school’s own portal address. SchoolPort associates use the web portal.
SchoolPort has three sign-in points, and the one you use depends on your role. Using the wrong one is the most common reason correct sign-in details are refused.
- Parents and students — the SchoolPort BLUE app (Broad Learning, Unified Environment). There is no web login for families. Grades, attendance, fee balances, and school announcements all live in BLUE.
- Teachers, school administrators, and office staff — your school’s own portal address, assigned when your school was onboarded (for example, yourschool.schoolportsis.com). Your school administrator can tell you the exact address.
- SchoolPort associates — the national portal at portal.schoolportsis.com.
SchoolPort has two apps in its family. BLUE (Broad Learning, Unified Environment) is the app for parents and students and is the one you download today. RED (Real-Time Education Dashboard) is planned for school administrators, teachers, and SchoolPort associates, who use the web portals until it is released.
2. How you sign in
In short. Parents sign in with a phone number or email address. Students and school staff sign in with a 7-digit SchoolPort ID that the school issues.
Parents sign in to the BLUE app with the phone number or email address the school has on record for them. You do not need an ID.
Students, teachers, and school staff sign in with a 7-digit SchoolPort ID issued by the school when the account is created. It stays the same for the life of the account, even if you change schools.
If you don’t know your ID, your school office can look it up for you. For privacy reasons, SchoolPort cannot give a student’s ID directly to the person asking — it has to come from the school that issued it.
3. How a parent account is created
In short. The school gives you a slip with an Access ID and a temporary password. You use it once in BLUE to create your account.
Parents cannot sign up on their own. The account starts at your child’s school, which is what keeps a child’s records from reaching anyone who is not their parent or guardian.
- The school lists you as a guardian. Your name, phone number, and email address are recorded on your child’s enrollment record. Make sure the school has the number you actually use.
- The school issues your access slip. The school office prints a slip with an Access ID and a temporary password. The slip is valid for 7 days. If it expires or is lost, the school can issue a new one.
- You create your account in BLUE. Install the SchoolPort BLUE app, choose Create account with Access ID, and enter the Access ID and temporary password from the slip, your email address, and the phone number the school has on file for you. Then choose your own password. The Access ID is only used for this step.
- Your child appears in BLUE. Their grades, attendance, fees, and school announcements are linked to your account.
More than one child? Use Add student in BLUE. You need the student’s SchoolPort ID and date of birth from the school, and you must already be listed as a guardian on that student’s record. If the child already has another guardian on file, that guardian is asked to approve the new request first.
After this, you sign in with your phone number (a 6-digit code is sent by text message) or with your email address and password.
4. Parents and students: contact your school first
In short. Your school creates, activates, and resets family accounts. SchoolPort support cannot do it for them.
Family accounts are managed entirely by the school your child attends. The school office is the only place that can:
- create a parent or student account, and issue a student’s SchoolPort ID;
- link a parent to the right child or children;
- reset a forgotten password or unlock an account;
- correct a name, class, or contact number on the record.
This is deliberate. The school holds the enrollment record, so only the school can confirm that the person asking is really the parent or student on that record. Contact your school’s office directly, in person or by phone.
5. Staff: common sign-in problems
In short. Wrong portal address, an ID that isn’t 7 digits, or an account not yet activated are the usual causes.
If your sign-in is refused at your school portal, work through these in order.
- Check the address in your browser. Staff accounts only work at the school portal they belong to. Signing in at the national portal will be refused.
- Check the ID length. It is exactly 7 digits, numbers only — no letters, spaces, or dashes.
- Activate first, sign in second. A newly created account has to be activated from the invitation your administrator sent before the password works.
- Use “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page if the password is the problem. If no reset arrives, your administrator can re-issue the invitation.
If all four check out and you still can’t get in, your school administrator can see the state of your account and fix it or escalate it.
6. Keeping your account secure
In short. Never share your ID and password. SchoolPort will never ask for your password by phone, SMS, or email.
Your SchoolPort account can show a child’s grades, attendance, and fee records. Treat it the way you would treat a bank login.
- Never share your password, and never sign in on someone else’s behalf.
- SchoolPort staff will never ask for your password by phone, SMS, email, or WhatsApp. Anyone who does is not from SchoolPort.
- Only sign in on your school’s official portal address or the official BLUE app. If a link looks unfamiliar, type the address yourself instead of tapping it.
- Where your device supports it, turn on biometric sign-in (Face ID or fingerprint) so your password is typed less often.
If you think someone else knows your password, change it immediately and tell your school office.
7. Still can’t get in
In short. Schools escalate to SchoolPort support. Families should always start with their school.
If you are a parent or student, your school office is the right and only first stop — they can resolve nearly every account problem the same day.
If you are school staff or an administrator and your school portal itself appears to be down or misbehaving, check the system status page first, then email support@schoolportsis.com with your school name, your role, and what you see on screen. Never include your password.
